CBE waste recycling fee (CA only, Mandatory)
Starting January 1st 2026 | This $15 fee is required by the State of California for products containing embedded batteries that are not easily removable.
As part of California’s Covered Battery-Embedded (CBE) Waste Recycling Program, retailers are required to collect this fee on each qualifying item sold or shipped to a California address. The fee supports safe recycling and disposal of battery-embedded electronics.
Applies per item — one fee per qualifying product.
